How learning works at SmartJoy

Understand. Plan. Teach. Review. Improve.

From your first message to monthly progress reviews, here is what happens at each step: what we do, what your child does, and what you need to do.

  • Free demo class
  • One-to-one or groups of up to 3
  • Monthly progress report

Step 1 of 6

Understand Your Child

Every child is different, so we start by listening.

What SmartJoy does
Ask about your child’s grade, curriculum, subjects, challenges at school, upcoming exams and goals.
What your child does
Usually nothing yet. Older students are welcome to join the conversation.
What you do
Message us on WhatsApp or call us, and tell us about your child and the timings that suit you.

Parent takeaway We start with your child’s needs, not a fixed package.

Step 2 of 6

Check Your Child’s Level

We understand your child’s level from the details you share. The teacher may also ask a few questions.

What SmartJoy does
Look at the details you share and, if needed, ask a few questions suited to your child’s grade, to spot strengths and topics that need work.
What your child does
Answers the questions in a relaxed way. There are no marks and nothing to pass.
What you do
Share your child’s grade, recent school results and any worries. There is nothing to prepare.

This is not a formal test, and it is not always needed before the demo. The questions can come before or during the demo class, and teachers keep checking understanding in every class, so the picture becomes clearer over time.

Parent takeaway We find the right starting point, so classes are neither too easy nor too hard.

Step 3 of 6

Create a Personalised Plan

We suggest the teacher, class format and timings that suit your child.

What SmartJoy does
Recommend a suitable teacher, based on subject, curriculum and grade, teaching style, language preference where relevant, and availability.
What your child does
Is matched with a teacher who suits their level and needs.
What you do
Choose one-to-one or a small group, and tell us which timings suit your family.

Option A

One-to-one tuition

  • One teacher and one student
  • Lessons at your child’s own pace
  • Focused help on difficult topics
  • Extra time where your child needs it

Option B

Small-group tuition

  • Up to 3 students of the same grade and level
  • Guided practice and discussion
  • Learning alongside classmates
  • Places depend on a suitable match and availability

Parent takeaway You choose the format. We suggest a teacher who fits.

Step 4 of 6

Attend a Free Demo Class

Your child joins a free live class, so you can see how the teacher explains.

What SmartJoy does
Arrange the demo, teach a short live lesson, and share a suggested learning plan afterwards.
What your child does
Takes part in a live online lesson on Zoom or Google Meet.
What you do
See how your child responds, ask questions, and decide whether to continue. There is no payment and no obligation.
  1. Book the demo on WhatsApp
  2. Your child attends a live demo lesson
  3. We share a suggested plan
  4. You decide, with no obligation
  5. Regular classes start once you agree the plan

The demo is a chance to check the fit. It is not a promise of results.

Book a FREE demo

Parent takeaway Try a class first, then decide.

Step 5 of 6

Teach, Practise and Support

When you agree the plan, regular live classes begin.

What SmartJoy does
Explain concepts step by step, give practice, help with homework and revise before school tests.
What your child does
Learns in live classes, asks questions, practises and revises.
What you do
Help your child attend regularly, and tell us about upcoming tests or homework worries.
A typical learning cycle: Explain Practise Check understanding Revise Practise again

Parent takeaway Your child gets support between topics, not only during class.

Illustration: a teacher and a student with a whiteboard, homework notebook, worksheets, books and revision cards Todaya² + b² = c² Revise Practise

Support your child receives

  • Concept clarity

Step-by-step explanations, and another way of explaining when your child needs it.

  • Homework help

Help to understand school assignments, so your child learns to solve them independently.

  • Practice

Questions and exercises that match the topic and your child’s level.

  • Revision and test preparation

Review of past topics and practice for upcoming school tests and exams.

  • Extra help when stuck

If your child struggles, the teacher plans extra practice or revision. Any extra classes are discussed with you first.

Step 6 of 6

Review Progress and Improve

We check progress regularly and keep you informed.

What SmartJoy does
Check understanding in class, run regular assessments and share a monthly progress report.
What your child does
Takes short quizzes or topic checks where suitable.
What you do
Read the monthly report, share any concerns, and agree the next goals with the teacher.
From review to action: Find a gap Plan targeted practice Revisit the topic Check again

Parent takeaway You always know what your child has learned and what comes next.

What the monthly report covers Every month

Topics covered

The chapters and skills worked on this month.

Strengths

What your child now does confidently.

Areas to improve

Topics that need more practice or revision.

Next steps

The plan and goals for the coming month.

The learning loop

Learning keeps improving.

  1. Understand the child
  2. Check the current level
  3. Personalise the plan
  4. Teach and practise
  5. Review progress
  6. Improve the plan
  7. Repeat

Once regular classes start, your child’s plan keeps improving. After each review, the teacher updates what to revise and what to learn next, and checks that the class format still suits your child.

The free demo (step 4) happens once, before regular classes begin, so it is not part of the repeating loop.

Start with a free demo

The learning loop: understand the child, check the current level, personalise the plan, teach and practise, review progress, improve the plan, then repeat ↻ Repeat Your child The plan growswith your child 1Understandthe child 2Checkthe level 3Personalisethe plan 4Teach andpractise 5Reviewprogress 6Improvethe plan

Questions

Questions parents ask

How does it start?

Send us a WhatsApp message or call us with your child’s grade, curriculum, subjects, challenges, goals and preferred timings. We suggest a suitable teacher and arrange a free demo class.

Does my child need to take a test before the demo?

No. There is no formal test. The teacher may ask a few questions before or during the demo to see where your child stands, and keeps checking understanding in every class.

How do you choose the teacher?

We look at the subject, your child’s curriculum and grade, teaching style, your child’s needs, language preference where relevant, and timings. We confirm the teacher with you before regular classes begin.

What is the difference between one-to-one and small-group tuition?

One-to-one is one teacher with your child, at your child’s own pace. Small-group classes have up to 3 students of the same grade and level, with guided practice and discussion.

What happens after the demo?

We share a suggested plan for your child. If you agree it, regular classes start. If you decide not to continue, there is nothing to pay.

Can my child get homework help?

Yes. Teachers help students understand school assignments and work through questions, so they learn to solve similar problems on their own.

How is progress reviewed?

Teachers check understanding in class and run regular assessments. You receive a monthly progress report with topics covered, strengths, areas to improve and next steps.

What if my child is struggling?

The teacher finds the specific problem and plans extra practice or revision. If extra classes would help, we discuss the options and availability with you first.
